  1. What is a data center? How data centers work A data center is a facility that centralizes an organization’s IT operations and equipment, as well as where it stores, manages and disseminates its data. Data centers house a network’s most critical systems and are vital to the continuity of daily operations. Consequentially, the security and reliability of a data center and their information is a top priority for organizations. Data center often makes up the core of an organization’s information system (IS). Thus, these critical data facilities usually require a significant investments of supporting systems, including air conditioning, climate control systems, fire suppression/smoke detection and raised floors for easy cabling and water damage prevention. Just about every business and government entity either needs its own data center or needs access to someone else’s. Some build and maintain them in-house, some rent servers at co-location facilities (also called colos) and some use public cloud based services at hosts like Amazon, Microsoft, Sony and Google. Find the best Data Center in India How A Data Center Works? The core components of a data center are as follows: Network infrastructure that connects servers (including virtualized servers), data center services, storage and external connectivity to end user locations Storage infrastructure that provides storage arrays to store the ‘fuel’ of the data center- data Computing resources- the servers that provide processing, memory, local storage and network connectivity for the ‘engines’ of the data center- applications

  2. Data center are typically deployed to protect the performance and integrity of the core data components. This layer can include: Network security-such as firewall and intrusion protection, to safeguard the ‘fuel’ and ‘engines’ of the data center Application delivery- providing application resiliency and availability, via automatic failover and load balancing to maintain application performance All of these usually resided in one place where physical racks and cabling are used to organize and interconnect them.
