How do people do it? • Forget to cite • Copy words or quotes • Copy and paste
How do people avoid it? • Citation! • Remember APA formatting • Whenever there is an idea you took from somewhere, a direct quote or statistic make sure you cite it • (Lastname, year) • Then make sure you include it in your bibliography!
Consequences... • Could be asked to redo the assignment • Could be given a 0 on the assignment • Could be asked to see the vice-principal • Varied responses
