  2. GOAL “To enhance Map reading skills among students by using 21st century skills ”

  3. Short Term Goals By changing teaching strategy and applying 21st century approaches students will be able to: • Recognize map signs and symbols • Recognize different types of lines • Recognize special characters • Recognize height and depression trajectories

  4. Solutions to anticipated challenges • CHALLENGES • Some of the students may not show interest in reading maps. • Some students may complain about the quality of a printed map provided. • Some teachers may not cooperate to conduct special classes for this purpose • Suitable teaching support material may not available • SOLUTIONS • Group work is a good solution for such students. • Better quality maps and atlas may be provided by the school. • Study periods may be exchanged with them to ease the situation • New and better material could be purchased for the smooth conduction of the classes.

  5. Timeline Students will start working on given assignment Students will understand the value of maps in geography. Students will be working in groups and present their work. Students will be assessed as per CIE standard September October November December January February March They will prepare a standard project regarding use of maps in everyday life. Other teachers within the subjects will be involved to share their teaching methodologies Students will get familiar with map signs and symbols

  6. Long Term Goal To inculcate map reading skills among students to equip them for CIE requirements and to encourage them to use same skills in practical life with the 21st century

  13. Conclusion Intel teaching aid program helped me a lot in developing and implementing better teaching strategies that will definitely benefit students
