July 4th CERN Higgs Update and Extended Run Details

The latest CERN Higgs update is scheduled for July 4 at 9:00 a.m. A practice talk is today to ensure we're prepared. The run will be extended by three additional months, increasing the total from 10 to over 30 fb⁻¹. An electronics tracking meeting is happening this morning, with Petr as a key contact for shipments. Current tracking is limited, with Igor and Xiaofeng set to merge data from B904-ME4/2 and legacy databases. A CSC readout review will also focus on enhancing data capabilities. Further procedures will be discussed in upcoming meetings.

  1. This week • CERN Higgs update will be July 4, 9:00 a.m. here • Practice talk today, so we know half of the story… • Run will be extended 3 additional months! • 10 now ~20 unextended  >30 fb-1 with extension • Electronics tracking meeting this a.m.: • Petr is a branch point for shipments (B904-ME4/2, ISR non-ME1/1, ISR ME1/1, B904 integration area, Pt. 5, …) • Nobody tracking except Xiaofeng • B904-ME4/2 vs. “big old” databases: Igor, Xiaofeng will merge • Next meeting 1st week of August • Proper procedures to be thrashed out thereafter (incl. radiation buffer) • CSC readout meeting this p.m.: • Looks good during LS1 to eliminate DCC, DDUSlink directly, gives 4x data capability • Doubling DCCs not elegant, but backup for some Technical Stop if we get into trouble • Finished touch-up editing for DOE proposal
