Innovative Autonomous Control Systems for Formation Flying Using GPS and LQG/LTR Controllers
This project focuses on the development of a unified architecture for orbit and attitude control systems that maintain formation flying using GPS code and phase pseudorange data. We applied nonlinear feedback control techniques to address the complexities of nonlinear attitude dynamics and kinematics. Accomplishments include the development of a 'leader of the fleet' reference system for relative navigation and receiving a US patent for our autonomous unified control system. Our software is available as a plugin to Analytical Graphics' Satellite Toolkit and is set to be utilized in government projects.
