This session introduces the Emergency Training for WASH response to urban floods, highlighting the increasing frequency of heavy precipitation and its associated flood risks as predicted by the IPCC. Given the growing urban populations and the rise in natural disasters, there is an urgent need for capacity building among WASH practitioners. The training aims to enhance understanding of the impacts of urban floods, establish response standards, and provide practical guidelines for initial rapid assessments in flood settings within the first two months following a disaster.
