  4. Overview of Adobe Connect • AC is one of numerous commercially available web conferencing platforms • Comprises a central server where participants login to a conf room with a unique URL • Features include voip, video, txt chat, media sharing, polls, whiteboard, application sharing

  5. What do I need to join a conference • MS Windows, Apple Mac, Lynux or Solaris Operating System more info • Web Bowser ie IE, Firefox • Adobe Flash player installed >V8.0 • Sound Card with mic input • Headset/Microphone headset • Webcam (optional)

  7. Setting  up and configuring audio • Ensure your headset is working on prior to entering the room • Enter the room 15 min prior to a session to test • Always run the audio wizard after you enter the room, even if it worked last time • Run the diagnostic test

Headsets: What & where to buy? • Within Sydney Institute, the college bookshops now stock a cheap Verbatim USB VoIP headset Model # 41921 for $39.95 inc GST. • If you are located near Ultimo the MSY computer store sells USB headsets for around $30. • Harris Technology also stock a Verbatim's USB VoIP headset Model Number U5800 for around $35 • If you want higher build quality and more comfort on your ears for those 1 hr plus online sessions then Logitech sell a wide range of good quality headsets typically priced from around $55 and above. These can be purchased from a wide range of computer hardware retailers such as Harris Technology or Dick Smith.
