BLACK BEAR NAVYNAVY JROTC at PISGAH HIGH Preparing Students for College and Life RIFLE / COLOR GUARD TEAMS • Pisgah’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Corps assists students in grades 9th-12th in developing a high degree of self motivation, individual discipline, and leadership. • We teach “skills for life” in order to compete in today’s competitive society. • Our program promotes patriotism, however the majority of our students do not join the military. We stress college and trade schools ! • We are not recruiters for the military and there are no obligations to the military. • UNIFORMS ARE FREE. • OK to be in other Sports, Band,etc: • Pisgah’s unit has received the state award of Distinguished Unit 17 times consecutively. Grayson Sluder SCHOLARSHIPS : Over One Million Dollars awarded just in the last 8 years to PISGAH ROTC STUDENTS! • ROTC TRIPS & CAMPS • Washington, DC • Pensacola, Florida • The Citadel-Leadership Academy • Leadership Camp/Navy Ball AIR RIFLE TEAM FLY TWICE A YEAR!

  2. PISGAH HIGH ROTC STUDENTSPast and Present Pisgah Class of 2012: Lulu Swanger-awarded over $100,000 in scholarships- Accepted to Meredith, Berea, APP State and Western Carolina. Plans on being a Social Worker Pisgah Class of 2012-Will be attending Texas A&M under scholarship. State Qualifier Wrestler Pisgah Class of 2005: Jessica Hall $400,000 Scholarship US NAVAL ACADEMY Pisgah Class of 2015: Lauren Wilke (Freshman) Basketball Player Pisgah Class of 2007: Jess Foster - Graduated-University of Alabama Army Officer Pisgah Class of 2008: Sydney Jones - Appalachian State University 2012 Grad with Major in Archeology. Pisgah Class of 2012: Morgan Mehaffey-Will be attending Western Carolina. Plans to be a Special Education Teacher. Pisgah Class of 2011: Matthew Long: currently attending Western Carolina. Awarded scholarship of 180,000 and Teaching Fellows. Plans on teaching High school Math.
