  3. What is Smart Board? • Interactive white board that hooks up to a computer, and presents what’s on the monitor. • Used in many classrooms and offices. • It has revolutionized the way learning can be brought forward to students.

  4. Who Can Use It? • K-12 Schools • Colleges/Universities • Businesses • Home for Home-Schooling

  5. Smart Board Functions • Smart Board has it’s own program. • Allows you to type, write, draw, erase, highlight, ect. • Present lessons in a new way. • Math • Social Studies • Language Arts

  6. More Functions • “Digital Ink” to write on the board with. • Projector (no transparencies). • Fun learning based games.

  7. How Does it Work? • Computer connected to board by cable • User touches SMART Board: message • SMART Board program on computer: mouse • Pens in tray • Alignment: 30 seconds

  8. Advantages • Eliminates use of transparencies • Bring a new level of involvement • Bring up web sites • Type up notes for class • or meeting • Bigger screen

  9. Disadvantages • Shadows • Messy writing • Re-Orientation • Expensive • Wrist can mess up the board
