INDIVIDUAL CAREER AND ACADEMIC PLAN (ICAP) • Accessing online tools that allow you to explore your interests, values, and abilities • Creating an electronic portfolio to organize college applications, scholarship information, resumes, and letters of recommendation • Create a “plan of study” to help align high school coursework with post-secondary goals www.collegeincolorado.org

ACTSAT • All juniors are required to take the ACT on April 23, 2014 • No registration or payment required • Required for admission to all 4-year Colorado colleges and Universities • Scores also serve as course placement • www.actstudent.org • Accepted, but not required for admission to Colorado 4-year colleges and universities • May be required for admission to out of state colleges and universities • www.collegeboard.org

NCAA/NAIA ***BE SURE TO TALK WITH YOUR COUNSELOR IF YOU INTEND TO PLAY A SPORT AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL*** • Students must register with the eligibility center that governs the college where you will compete. • NCAA Eligibility Center www.eligibilitycenter.org • NAIA Eligibility Center • www.playnaina.org

NCAA/NAIA • There are different course requirements for each level of participation (Division I, Division II, etc.) • There are GPA and SAT/ACT requirements for eligible student athletes. • In order for a student athlete to be eligible, only NCAA approved courses are used to calculate a student’s core GPA. Please see your counselor for more info.

  9. NCAA/NAIA • ACT/SAT scores must be reported directly to the eligibility center. Scores will not be accepted if only reported on a high school transcript.

College Timetable FIRST SEMESTER • Begin researching colleges • Prepare for the ACT exam – April 23, 2014 • Attend college fairs • Visit college campuses • Talk to your counselor if you are interested in attending a Military Academy • Turn in Concurrent Enrollment Intent form if applicable-Deadline, November 1

College Timetable SECOND SEMESTER • Continue to prepare for the ACT exam • Review next year’s coursework with your counselor • Visit college campuses • Register with the NCAA/NAIA if applicable • Take the ACT – April 23, 2014 • Plan summer activities: employment, volunteer opportunities, summer learning programs • Apply for early graduation if applicable-Deadline, April 1 • Turn in Concurrent Enrollment Intent form if applicable-Deadline, April 1
