The Plant Kingdom is classified into two main groups: Cryptogamae (non-flowering plants) and Phanerogamae (flowering plants). Cryptogamae is further divided into three divisions: Thalophytes, Bryophytes, and Pteridophytes. Thalophytes include algae and fungi exemplified by Spirogyra and Rhizopus. Bryophytes, such as mosses (Riccia, Funaria), are considered amphibians of the plant kingdom. Pteridophytes, or true land plants, feature ferns, Azolla, and Selaginella. Phanerogamae consists of Gymnosperms (like Cycas and Pinus) and Angiosperms (monocots like rice and dicots like groundnut).
