Instituto Nacional de Prevencion Sísmica (INPRES) • INPRES is an Argentina's national organization whose primary responsibilities are: • Planning and carrying out the study of the seismicity of the Argentina. • Operate National Network of Seismic Stations, Accelerometers and the Laboratory for Earthquake Resistant Structures. • Designing regulations governing for the civil constructions. • Conduct awareness campaigns, to create an awareness of the seismic problem. • Act as a validation authority nationwide, from the seismic point of view on major infrastructure projects such as hydroelectric, mining establishments, nuclear power, etc.

National Network of Seismic Stations (RNES) • The RNES consists of fifty (50) stations distributed throughout the Argentina. • The highest density of stations is in the Middle West area (near 30 sta) • In the North West region (10 sta) • Another 10 stations around the country • Also, data from IRIS international stations near Argentina are obtained. • LVC and LCO (CHILE); LPAZ (BOLIVIA); CPUP (PARAGUAY); etc
