  5. Some examples are: • The phone rang. • “Jade Wong grew up in San Francisco.” • (only copy one!)

  6. There are two types of predicate, simple and complete

  8. What kind of predicate is this? • The lamp shattered on the floor. • COMPLETE!!!

  9. How about this one? • The lamp was destroyed after it fell from the table. • SIMPLE!!!!!
