Antarctic Digital Database (ADD) Over 200 new registrations Widely spread over more than 25 countries New data layers include: - MODIS MOA mosaic and RAMP (Radarsat Antarctic Mapping iiiProject) as background images. Hosted by NSIDC. - BEDMAP sub-ice topography contours - Deception Island – detailed data at 1:25,000 scale Code to allow web-managers to embed an interactive map of Antarctica in a web-page

Place-names and Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica Efforts to check coordinates for names and merge names in progress by Australia, China, USA and UK, including: Grove Mountains, Larsemann Hills, Allan Hills, S. Shetland Is Updates to the CGA include: 142 newly named features 170 changes to names, coordinates or descriptions

Historic aerial photography Major campaign to scan US Navy aerial photography ongoing at USGS EROS data centre All 330,000 scenes completed at 400 dpi Photogrammetry quality scanning at 1000 dpi underway using custom-built scanner 5 scanners running 24 hour operation Phoenix V scanner Australia, Belgium and UK examining options to scan their unique collections to expand archive available

  5. Coastal change and glaciological maps of Antarctica Series of maps and GIS data of changes in ice coast Compiled from historic aerial photography, satellite images and other archival sources Sheets A to H completed and maps distributed GIS data for Sheets A to C included as a layer in the ADD
