Acts 20:28 “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.”
Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
Our Confession The Synod, and every member of the Synod, accepts without reservation: 1. the Scriptures of the Old and the New Testament as the written Word of God and the only rule and norm of faith and of practice;
Our Confession 2. all the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as a true and unadulterated statement and exposition of the Word of God, to wit: the three Ecumenical Creeds (the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed), the Unaltered Augsburg Confession, the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles, the Large Catechism of Luther, the Small Catechism of Luther, and the Formula of Concord.
Our Mission …and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars for ever and ever. (Dan. 12:3b)
Forth in the name of Jesus, forth to a world that waits, With lifted cross before us we leave Thy temple's gates. Thy Spirit calls us forward, Thy promise will not fail, No foe however fearsome against Thee can prevail.
No easy task is left us, no burden lightly borne The cross our pilgrim garment before the crown is worn. Yet with those ancient martyrs, whose blood the seed did sow, Crowned with the Cross of Jesus we to the conflict go.
No merit makes us worthy God's Word of grace to speak Our foolish wisdom fails us, our own strength leaves us weak. But in the wounds of Jesus we're washed as white as snow; Our tongue the seraph touches and asks, "Now who will go?"
The harvest fields have ripened, the Bridegroom soon returns, Earth's destined day is dawning, the waiting Father yearns. From frozen northern wastelands to pleasant coastal sands, We herald to the nations our Lord for every land.
Grant us Thy strength, O Father, fill us with love, O Son, Bestir us, Holy Spirit, as Thee, may we be one. Till kindreds, tongues and nations around Thy throne shall stand And without ceasing bless Thee, our Lord for every land!
