Proposed Field Actions Over Next 2-5 YearsTopic Area #1 Training • DSS Concept - defined, tools and processes • DSS lead person identified in each office – train the trainer • Partner with other agencies for training/exercises Regional/National Support Needed: • Equipment, tools, subject matter experts • Test beds and proving ground (How to brief, what works best, playbooks) • NOAA asset, full support and commitment from above, promote our services from above Challenges Identified • Money – Share/work/train with other agencies, private sector, and universities • Tough to do alone – (EMI) • Sustainability. Staffing turnover

Proposed Field Actions Over Next 2-5 YearsTopic Area #2 Staffing • Identify office DSS threats and service baseline requirements • Identify gaps in service capabilities • Review needs to be done on current NWS staffing profile to align with strategic goals Regional/National Support Needed: • Evaluate HMT/Intern position • Can these slots be used for specialized roles? DSS, Climate, etc • Identify regional/national resources for long term support, ROC, EOC, etc Challenges Identified • Budget • LMR
