  1. What is the international baccalaureate diploma programme? The diploma programme by IB (International Baccalaureate) is a two year educational programme. It is primarily aimed at students who are in the age group of 16 to 19. Students get an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education with this program. It is recognized by most reputed universities across the globe. The international baccalaureate diploma programme (IBDP) is administered by the International Baccalaureate and is taught in approximately 140 countries. It is taught in French, English or Spanish. For a student to participate in this programme, it is required for him/her to attend an IB school. There are mainly assessments in six subjects that should be completed by IBDP students. The IB Diploma Rate internationally is only 80%. This rate is determined by the percentage of students who receive IB diplomas out of those who were diploma candidates. The Diploma Rate varies between schools. There are six subjects that students must take if they wish to pursue IB Diploma (one from each group 1- 5). According to the IB, approximately 240 hours of instructional time for HL (Higher Level) courses and 150 hours for SL (Standard Level) courses are needed. Students are encouraged to pursue full IB diploma; however, it requires a great deal of commitment and initiative. For IBDP, a pilot online version is being developed by the IB. There are several online courses already present for IBDP students. When looking for an IB residential school in Mumbai, make sure you are doing some good research. It is best to ask for recommendations. You can also research on the internet and learn more about the schools in Mumbai that offer IB curriculum. The IB curriculum is said to be very helpful in giving a global perspective to students, helping them prepare for their future.
