  1. Self Esteem Ways of Building Self-Esteem

  2. The first year • When a baby is born that baby already has 100,000 brain cells • From the first day that the baby is born he/she is ready to be active • The babies communicate when they can’t even talk yet

  3. Teaching Your Baby How To Respect His/Herself • Before the babies are borntheir brain cells are already developing and they are ready to learn • Babies respond to your energy and to your face expression • If your face has a blank face then your baby will respond to that face. By you not showing him/her any attention to him/her, then they will start to grab things and start crying for attention from you • When you respond to your babies that shows them that you have respect for them and that they can have respect for themselves.

  4. Building Self-esteem in your child • Self- Esteem- is building respect in your child • Building Self-Esteem with your child is easy. Give them little tasks like letting them do chores around the house like clean the table or clean the dishes • Also letting your child get to know people, such as having them go to a day care or letting them go to parties • A good one is to have time for your child and to play and also listen to what they are saying

  5. Having patience with your child • When your child has spilled a cup of milk the first thing to do is NOT GET MAD • ask your child to help clean it up • Talk with them and tell them how they should be careful next time • Make sure that you spend time teaching your child about these four concepts: Physical self concept, Emotional self concept, Social self concept, and intellectual self concept

  6. Spoiling your child • Spoiling your child means that your are doing something bad for your child • Also if you’re ignoring your child all the time you’re not helping your child • Giving your child what he/she wants all the time, even if it is bad, is called spoiling because he/she is not helping his/her health habits
