  2. Goal of Source WG • Establish DTD(Detailed Technical Design) is our mid-term goal. • Electron source • Basic design is almost fixed. We go forward to the DTD. • Who does? • Positron source • Basic design is partly not established. • DTD will be started after the basic design is fixed.

  3. Electron Source • NEA GaAs cathode is the baseline. • DC photo-cathode gun for compatibility to the cathode material. • Ready for DTD. • No assigned group. • Need laser development. • inherit the SLAC work? • No fundamental difficulty, but we have to develop it.

  4. Positron Source • There is no methods ready for DTD. • Undulator • Flux concentrator : technical maturity, droop on B-field and capture eff. during 1ms long pulse is expected. R&D is currently stopped. • Target : vacuum seal, technical maturity. R&D is currently stopped. • No elves for ILC (we have to work on it!). • A good management is required.

  5. Positron Source • E-driven • Basic design is not established. We have to hurry up. • Once the basic design is finished, DTD could be easier? Less pulse duration (FC), less target speed. • However, design criteria of e- driver and e+ booster should be carefully considered. • CW 300Hz operation results huge power consumption, but pulsed 300 Hz operation could be unstable. • CFS could be massive.
