Plan for Today • What are electronic portfolios? • Why use them? • How to use them? • And tomorrow, you’ll really learn to use them!
What are electronic portfolios? • Electronic filing systems • Allows students to store: • Papers • Curriculum vita • Clinical hours • Examples of clinical experiences • Examples of course experiences and how they influenced your practice • Foliotek portfolio available on Internet • Free while a student; small annual fee ($30) after graduation
Why electronic portfolios? • Presentations to potential employers • Demonstrating competencies and skills • Evidence for progression through the program (e.g., meeting terminal program outcomes) • Evidence for meeting CCNE and NONPF standards for DNPs
How do I use my Foliotek portfolio? • Save the evidence! • In the portfolio, we give very strong suggestions about what to save for evaluation. • You can save any other artifacts you wish.
