Draft Work Plan • Five types of EReg activities: - one-off (start-up) activities - daily association work - annual association work - support activities - substantive activities according to topic / theme • EReg topics divided in five groups: - Data exchange/ standardisation / harmonisation - Vehicle related matters - Driver related matters - Fraud, theft, cross border enforcement - Remaining subjects

Procedure • The draft Work Plan has five topic groups with in total 36 possible EReg topics or themes • A survey was distributed among the EReg members to determine: - Is this the right categorisation of topics? - Which topics are relevant for EReg? (add, remove) - What is the priority of these topics? (short term, mid term, long term) - In what way are members willing to work on the topics? (chair, participate, be informed)

  4. Results survey (1) • The survey was filled in by 19 EReg members, 5 members did not react to the survey There were no amendments on the categorisation of the groups (I - V) 5 topics were included in other groups (moved) 11 topics were removed 9 (new) topics were added

Results survey (2) • Priority in general: • Short term priority: International data exchange • Mid term priority: Vehicle related subjects • Varied priority: Driver related subjects, Fraud, theft and cross border enforcement & Remaining subjects • Participation in general: • Chair & participate: International data exchange, Vehicle related subjects & Driver related subjects • Be informed: Fraud, theft and cross border enforcement & Remaining subjects

Data exchange/ standardisation/ harmonisation • International data exchange c.a. • Evaluation EUCARIS II • New developments and/or applications with EUCARIS • Evolutions with Prüm treaty • Options for Tachonet by using EUCARIS II • Information exchange for the effectivity of the Eurovignets • Notification of imported vehicles • Data standardisation new • European safe parking places for vehicles (register) • Exchange of type approval data

Vehicle related matters • Vehicle-end of life directive (2000/53/EC) • Electronic vehicle identification (EVI) • Harmonisation of commercial plates • Toll subjects (road pricing) • Vehicle inspections (PTI and/or identification) for import vehicles • Modernisation of PTI and exchange of technical (PTI) data • Use of vehicles with 24 GHz equipment • Smart (card) vehicle documents • Vehicle registration procedures / Vehicle registration on the internet • Vehicle taxation • Registration vehicle mileage or kilometers (preventing fraud) • Supporting working group for editing "The Vehicle Chain in Europe" • Environmental stickers for access in cities • Vehicle safety for imported Vehicles new • Re-registration of vehicles within EU • Vehicle type approval • Research with regard to temporary documents

  10. V. Remaining subjects • Movement of unusual loads or vehicles; in 2007 guideline • European Highway and Vehicle Register (EESC) • Subjects related to road side inspection (organisations) • Data exchange between EU-members and non-members

And now… • Members to chair a topic group are responsible for assigning a project leader and forming the working group The name of the project leader is send to the Secretariat of EReg The topic group will write an action plan using the format provided by the EReg Secretariat This action plan will include a description of the goals, approach and schedule of the topic group The action plan is collected by the EReg Secretariat and distributed to all EReg members The topic group will receive request from the EReg Secretariat to make progress reports If needed, very limited financial support is possible
