  1. Update on 2008-2011 Board Goals • Year End 2010 Summary • (as of December 31, 2010)

Four Key Goals (2008-2011) • Business Retention and Expansion – The Taylor EDC will create a favorable business climate and build economic wealth for the community by further developing a business retention and expansion (BRE) program to assist primary employers. • Business Recruitment/Development – The Taylor EDC will create a favorable business climate and build economic wealth for the community by increasing business attraction and (targeted) promotional marketing activities which will attract at least $12 million in new capital investments and 300 net new jobs with higher than average payrolls. • Workforce Development – The Taylor EDC will develop the quality and size of a sustainable semi-skilled and skilled workforce in Taylor by investing resources in K-12 and higher education programs. • Marketing-Communications – The Taylor EDC will improve the brand image of Taylor by promoting the city as an energetic, progressive community with a good quality of life and pro-active business climate.

Noteworthy BRE activities 4Q 2010 • Met with one local companies about possible expansion project • Assisted one (1) company in settlement agreement • Assisted one (1) company in recalibration agreement • Completed 5 survey visits in 4Q; completed 12 of 16 visits for annual goal • Refined the comprehensive list of 77 primary employers in Taylor • Achieved 16 of 20 annual BRE plan goals • Events of Interest • Co-Hosted Small Business Roundtable with Rep. Diana Maldonado • Hosted two CEO Roundtable events • Hosted an Industry Appreciation Luncheon with 80 attendees • Company assists: • Alliance Chemical • Coufal-Prater • Taylor Bedding

Workforce Development • Continued to work with Taylor leaders on alternate strategy for EWCHEC expansion if Hutto tax doesn’t pass • Began coordinating a wood-products manufacturers’ forum for recycling through the TSTC-TC Sustainable Technologies Academy • No official meetings have been set; tentative date Jan-Feb • STA staff has begun organizing event with TEDC staff and researching wood-waste technologies and processes • Began developing a training needs survey with TSTC and TC to issue in January to local companies • Jason and Linda attended the Texas Workforce Commission Annual Conference in Dallas.

  16. Goal 4. Marketing & Communications • Participated in Williamson County Growth Summit with Taylor Marketing Team • Published the four-color Impressions newspaper insert to 10,000 homes with Taylor Marketing Team • Published the new Local Assistance Package with an editable PDF form to make incentives applications easier.
