EOTC Technical Overview (1) • Overview of Efforts for Year 1 • Training Registration • Currently, registration local at each Component, Soon to be implemented in OKC, Standard registration form developed for OKC • Training Schedule • Current schedule kept at ERDC by Technologist, Posted on ERDC web site, Eventually to be implemented in OKC • Training Content - Generated by FAPOCs, based on user demand • 4 CE courses at 4 different locations (Component 1) • 1 ET course, 1 SIP course (Component 2) • 5 CFD courses at 3 locations, 2 EOTC seminar series (Component 3) • 3 CCM courses at 2 locations, 1 CEN course, 1 CEA course (Component 4) Contract Year 1 Review

EOTC Technical Overview (2) • Overview of Efforts for Year 1 • 6 of the 18 Summer Interns for Components 1, 2, 3 for Summer 2002 are grad students (Selection pending for Component 4) • Summer Intern Program • 3 components centralized this contract year • Goal is to include the 4th component in the centralized system next contract year. • OKC staff working with Component Technologists to develop and implement Training Registration Wizard • User requirements • Survey results for 2002 • BoFs planned for UGC and SC02 Contract Year 1 Review

EOTC Technical Overview (3) • Overview of Efforts for Year 1 • MSI program • 5 of the 18 Summer Interns at Components 1, 2, 3 for Summer 2002 are from MSIs • Selection Pending for Component 4 • JSU: Working with Dr. Willie Brown on reduced scope proposal, Summer Institute in core • CAU: 2 proposals requested for next contract year, Visiting Faculty proposed for next contract year, Graduate student Assistance • FIU: Working with them for next year’s proposal process; Assisted in OKC development • UH: Tailoring program to meet PET needs • CSU: Presentation at ASC, Workshop planned June 7, 2002 • HPTi (other MSIs): UTEP included in CE project Contract Year 1 Review

  6. User Codes Impacted by PET Will begin this contract year to ask the question specifically. Several of those who took Advanced MPI said they would use some of the calls they learned in their codes – but codes were generally not named. Parallel Methods helped high resolution wave propagation models Parallel Processing Techniques will be applied in student projects in large scale computing in solid mechanics and materials Knowledge will be used “immediately and often” Technical (Metrics) Contract Year 1 Review
