Entering the Classroom C Conversation: Level 2 H Help: Before bell—ask After bell—raise hand A Activity: Students will begin warm-up by the time the tardy bell rings M Movement: As necessary P Participation: When the tardy bell rings, students will be seated and working on their warm-up activity Get Interactive Notebook Check daily objectives Get needed books and supplies; sharpen pencils Begin warm-up, which will be on the screen Warm-up will be concluded within the first 10 minutes of class

Whenever a student is talking, we will all be respectful and listen.
Independent Work C Conversation: Level 1—limited to on-topic questions of an immediate neighbor H Help: Raise hand A Activity: Independent Work M Movement: None—without permission P Participation: Students will be actively doing the assignment Whenever the assignment is for independent work, the student will work on his or her own. Students may ask on-topic questions of an immediate neighbor to have a point clarified, seek help with the meaning of a word, etc. This does not mean carrying on a conversation. If you need my help, raise your hand and I will come to you. Be respectful of others who are working by not asking your question across the room.
Quizzes and Tests C Conversation: Level 0 H Help: Raise hand A Activity: Quizzes and Tests—absolute Independent Work. M Movement: None during quiz or test; when completed, to class work basket and return. P Participation: Students will be actively working on the quiz or test and then doing SSR. Taking quizzes and tests is a time for complete silence. Work is absolutely independent. When done, turn quiz or test in to the class work basket, return to your seat, and begin SSR.
