FA Committee • 2018 HKN Faculty Advisor Ad-Hoc Committee Members: SupavadeeAramvith (ChulalongkornUniversity) Preeti Bajaj (GH Raisoni College of Engineering) Sean Bentley (chair) Dennis Silage (Temple University) Doug Tougaw (Valparaiso University) • A huge thank you to the committee! Along with others on the HKN staff, Board of Governors, and input from other faculty advisors like you, the committee developed the resources that will be introduced to you today.

Announcements • Upcoming HKN Awards—Nominate! • https://hkn.ieee.org/get-involved/awards/ • Faculty Advisors Roundtable at HKN SLC • HKN will hold a Faculty Advisor Workshop at the Student Leadership Conference to be held in Boston, MA, November 1-3, 2019 • HKN will provide an additional $250 to chapters who attend with their faculty advisor • New HKN Job Board • https://ieee-hkn.careerwebsite.com/

Background for new materials • Faculty Advisor Support was identified as one of five key goals for 2018 by the Board • Data to aid in the process was formed via: • Faculty Advisor Journey Mapping Effort led by Ron Jensen • Spring 2018 Faculty Advisor Call • Faculty Advisor Roundtable at 2018 Student Leadership Conference • Other discussions with Faculty Advisors • Worked to create materials that would be as informative, easy to use, and self-contained as possible. We welcome your feedback and suggestions, and these should be continuously updated documents.

Rothwell Distinguished Advisor Recognition program, designed to give much-deserved recognition of Faculty Advisors who lead consistently active chapters.
