  2. Purpose of State and Local AQF Statement of Needs • Synthesize NOAA-EPA vision for National Air Quality Forecast Capability to support State and local air quality forecast programs • Communicate current short- and long-term plans for National Air Quality Forecast Capability

Process for Developing Statement of Needs • Initial draft developed in consultation between NOAA, EPA, and individual air quality forecasters • First draft discussed with AQ forecasters workgroup at EPA AIRNOW Strategic Planning Workshop in December • Second draft reviewed by AIRNOW Steering Committee
