IDIÓFONOS • Entre los instrumentos idiófonos citaremos aquí los siguientes: • Armónica de cristal - Celesta • Platillos - Cabasa • Crótalos - Sonajas • Cajas chinas - Glockenspiel • Temple-blocks - Campanas tubulares • Güiro - Triángulo • Cascabeles - Maracas • Vibráfono - Castañuelas • Marimba - Xilófono

  4. IDIÓFONOS • Los instrumentos idiófonos pueden ser atacados de múltiples formas: • Percutidos: Es la forma más común. En ella nos encontramos a los gongs, las campanas o los xilófonos. • Sacudidos: Como los cascabeles y las sonajas. • Entrechocados: Como las castañuelas y los platillos. • Raspados y frotados: Como los güiros y las matracas. • Punteados: Como las guimbardas y las sanzas. • Pateados: Se trata aquí de los instrumentos más antiguos, como por ejemplo el bastón y la tabla de madera.

IDIÓFONOS • En cuanto a la forma de dichos instrumentos podemos distinguir las siguientes categorías: • Instrumentos de cuerpo sólido: Pueden tener forma de placa, lámina, bloque, bastón, etc. A ella pertenecen los palillos de entrechoque, sistros, gongs, xilófonos, etc. • Instrumentos de cuerpo vacío, abierto o en forma de tubo: Pueden tener forma de caña, concha, etc. A ella pertenecen las campanas, sonajeros, cascabeles, sonajas, etc. • Instrumentos de efectos especiales: Son instrumentos difícilmente clasificables.

Son frecuentes en la orquesta • Dentro de la orquesta son utilizados frecuentemente los siguientes instrumentos de percusión: Timbales cromáticos Bombo Caja Tambor militar Platillos Triángulo, Pandereta, Castañuelas, Crótalos, Sonajas Claves, Temple-blocks, Cajas chinas, Cencerros Campanas tubulares Celesta y Glockenspiel Xilófono, Marimba y Vibráfono
