  12. 01STATUS QUO 01 – 08CONCLUSION AND WAY FORWARD: AREAS OF CONCERN RESEARCH AND FURTHER INTERACTION DURING PHASE 2 • CONCLUSION & RECOMMENDATION • The Municipality, team and people of the greater Knysna should align to the global and country's needs and demands • The Municipality should determine how to establish a friendly, enabling business environment by allowing (NOT CONTROLLING) and empowering the businesses especially small businesses. In contrast to a controlling, demanding, draining and tedious environment crammed with red tape. • The Municipality should engage in projects to build trust, positivity and deserve respect by being service oriented, friendly and conducting an interactive communicative system. Also involving the communities in all ISDF decisions and projects • The Municipality should not ignore and neglect Tourism - act promptly (we are loosing out and wasting time) FIND A BRAND for the greater Knysna that is appropriate and long lasting. • Develop the material considerations/interventions and/ideas through: • conducting workshops cafes with specific wards, interest groups and special ideas groups • further research and development through data cafes • Conducting high level meetings concerning: • Economic development • Youth • Aging population • Sport • As well as • Infrastructure & urban design • Heritage • “Swallows’ Views” KNYSNA | INTEGRATED STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK | OCTOBER 2013
