The ACIKE Online Unit Development Project at Charles Darwin University aims to create a standardized template for Learnline, improving navigation and access to course materials for students. Based on student feedback from 2011 and 2012, the project identifies common challenges faced by Indigenous students and emphasizes the need for a cohesive layout across units. This initiative seeks to simplify the learning environment, enhance user experience, and promote consistency in course design, ultimately supporting student success and engagement in their academic journeys.

CDU Indigenous Student InterviewsNovember 2011 • How have you found using Learnline? • Initally it was very confusing and time consuming to find my way around it. It took me two weeks to confidently utilise it and by then the course had well and truely started and I felt I was behind the "eight ball" straight away.…..several students all had the initial problems with navigating around learnline and it was quite daunting to them. • Little hard navitgating through links because each unit has a different layout. • What improvements would you like to see in Learnline? • Generic layout to find information over all of my subjects. • Less links and consistancy over units.
CDU Student Feedback: SELT data Semester 1, 2012 • I think that learnline could be set out a little better. It took not only myself, my husband and a friend who uses it along time to understand how to use it. it just needs to be set out clearer. Easer to find things. Each subject it set out different, its confusing. once you understand how it works, The information to access for your work and assessments is very good, all the info is there. • I found learnline very confusing and where to find all the information. I think it needs to be in one place on the board instead of under different headings. It was hard to know what to do …. • Being set out the same for all subjects, it can become confusing if every subject has created their own learnline page, and you have to spend ages trying to find stuff. • being consistant in the lay out for subjects there is a vast difference from one to another.
