Loss in production during kharif – 2009 is estimated to be 44,975 tonnesdue to – • Deficient rainfall till late July 2009, lesser coverage under Aus paddy – 11000 ha, Jhum, 1044 Ha, • Aman paddy- 15-20% loss for delayed transplantation and use of over-aged seedlings in 74% crop area. Approx. monitory loss; Rs. 63.54 Crores. • Fisheries- Loss 1446 tonnes. (Fish), 352 tonnes (Fish Seed). Value- approx: Rs. 14.95 Crores.

Fertilizer minikit for Aman : Rs. 6.89 Crores. • Package for Boro Paddy : Rs. 9.07 Crores. • Package for Mustard : Rs. 0.46 Crores. • Package for Pulses : Rs. 0.14 Crores. • Assistance for Jhum : Rs. 0.50 Crores. • Irrigation facilities : Rs. 23.23 Crores. • Horticulture (Hybrid Veg) : Rs. 6.83 Crores. • Fodder Dev (ARDD) : Rs. 0.46 Crores. • Fisheries : Rs. 5.99 Crores. Grand Total : Rs. 53.57 Crores.

  4. Proceedings of Agricultural Ministers’ conference on issues relating to fertilizer sector Chaired by Union Minister of Chemical and Fertilizer, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan held at New Delhi on 29th January,2007 attended by Resident Commissioner, Govt of Tripura, ShriSanjeevRanjan: Fertilizer Companies should arrange for a primary stock point in each district in which they are marketing fertilizer products with a view towards ensuring sufficient supply to each Block in the Country. Lead Fertilizer Companies (LFC) should maintained a primary stock point in each districts of the State. (BVFCL being the LFC for Tripura).

  5. As per Stage III of NPS for Urea manufacturing units, the DOF will operate a buffer stock through the Institutional agencies/Fertilizer companies in States up to a limit of 5% of their seasonal requirement. But, this system has not been implemented in the State. • The Department of Fertilizer will arrange for prepositioning of Urea at the level of 75% of each months requirement from Kharif,’07 onwards as against the current practice of 33%. The above four decisions have not been implemented so far in spite of repeated persuasions by the State Government.

  6. Fertilizer (Constraints) contd…. • Non allocation of rakes for movement of fertilizer in Lumding – Badarpur section of NF Railway. • In spite of repeated persuasions and letters from the State Govt. priority not so far accorded by the Railways for fertilizers by replacing rakes containing foodgrains. • The GOI is requested to kindly consider movement of fertilizers through road transport as a special case for Tripura considering the frequent imposition of restriction by the railways on fertilizer movement and the meager arrival of fertilizers during the past two years.

  7. Anticipated foodgrains production during Kharif ’09 would be 460.63 thousand tons against the target of 538.62 thousand tons.

  8. Target for foodgrains production during Rabi’09 has been fixed at 249.59 thousand tons.

  9. G.O.I released funds in three installments during 2007-08 as under : • On 10th January, 2008 : Rs. 112.00 Lakhs • On 11th January, 2008 : Rs. 20.00 Lakhs • On 12th February,2008 : Rs. 284.00 Lakhs Total : Rs. 416.00 Lakhs

  10. Projects approved for the year 2008-09:- Rs. 3531.33 lakhs in the SLSC meeting held on 22nd August,08.

  13. Four District and Forty Blocks covered • Registration of ATMA, except Dhalai, done • SREP for Two district prepared,-North & South • SEWP for all four district for the year 2009-10 to 2011-2012 prepared & sent to GOI • State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) set up at Lembuchera
