SS.7.C.1.1 Benchmark Breakdown SS 7 C 1 1 social studies 7th grade civics strand 1 topic 1 Demonstrate an understanding of the origins and purposes of government, law, and the American political system Recognize how Enlightenment ideas including Montesquieu's view of separation of power and John Locke's theories related to natural law and how Locke's social contract influenced the Founding Fathers. 

  4. Keep this paper out during the test! • When you get to a question that looks interesting, write down the benchmark from that question in one of the four front boxes of your paper boxing. This paper will be your test grade. The rest of today’s exam is so that we can see how much I teach you this year.

  5. Edusoft Reminders • Do not write near these boxes. • Bubble in your name and write your name at the top of your paper. • I will pass you an Edusoft sheet and a copy of the exam. You may begin when you have those materials. You will have 45 minutes to complete this exam. • Any questions before I pass papers out?
