Breast cancer impacts 1 in 8 women, with age increasing risk. Tragically, a woman dies every 13 minutes. However, early detection improves survival rates significantly—96% of women treated early are cancer-free after five years. It's crucial to start breast self-exams by age 20. Join us as Cooper High School partners with Susan G. Komen to raise awareness and funds through creative initiatives like bake sales, pea rallies, and themed events. Let’s come together to support the cause and ensure a brighter future for all. Every small effort counts!

Matadors Care There are many ways to raise money for breast cancer. Our student council chose to sell breast cancer t-shirts, and wristbands.
Consider This!!! Have a powder-puff game at your school to raise money for breast cancer, maybe have a $2.00 admission fee Have a bake sale to raise money, sale cookies and/or cupcakes; students LOVE goodies! You can also have a “pink pep-rally!” make the theme of the rally, ALL PINK. You can have a booth set up to sell breast cancer accessories in the pep rally, like bracelets or key chains
In Middle School? This is for You! Middle Schools can’t do all the activities high schools can, like powder-puff games; however, all hope IS NOT lost! You too can raise money! If you are in middle school you can set up water jugs throughout your school and have students and teachers drop their loose change in the jugs. Consider making it a competition to make it more interesting. i.e. each grade for themselves. All proceedings can go to Susan G. Komen Another idea is to sell tickets for 1-$2.00 which will allow students to get out maybe 15 minutes early for lunch, this has been proven to be a great money-maker!
