  1. Digestive & Excretory System The Job of the digestive system is to break down food into small pieces so they can absorbinto our bodies There are 4 stages of the Digestive System, Ingestion, Digestion, Absorption and Elimination. The Digestive System is a group of organs that turn food into nutrients then into “feces”. http://www.health-lesson-plans-teacher.com/digestivesystem.html

  2. Ingestion Ingestion is eatingfood withyour teeth to chew the food into paste. The paste is made when saliva mixes with the chewedup food, which makes it easier to break down food. The esophagus is the passage way between the mouth and the stomach (Ingestion to Digestion).

  3. Absorption & Digestion Once the food reaches the stomach, the food breaks down into proteins. When the food enters the small intestine, enzymes from organs are to mix with the food to help break it down even further. Bacteria help break down food too. Sometimes people consume bacteria that is not good for digestion and gives us food poisoning.

  4. Elimination The excretory system is how peopledispose of waste. Lots of the chemicals we dispose from our bodies can be toxic if they are not taken away. Some of the wastes we makein our bodiesare carbon dioxide and salts.
