In 1054 C.E., a pivotal moment known as the Great Schism forever altered the landscape of Christianity in Europe. This event marked the official division between the Roman Catholic Church in the West and the Eastern Orthodox Church in the East. Key factors leading to this schism included theological disagreements, cultural differences, and political tensions.
