  2. Project 1: R10 TCS approval and Tencon guidelines and procedures. • Project description : Organize a workshop to define the following: 1) R10 TCS approval guideline; 2) Tencon site-selection guideline and best practices. • Interim workshop was held in UPM, Malaysia, 25th February, 2012. 6 members from Malaysia Section participated. • R10 TCS approval guideline. • Adopt IEEE best practices on TCS seeking conferences and Tencon. • 6 papers per reviewer max, • 3 reviewers per paper min, • Acceptance rate? Is it necessary to impose a specific rate or not ? • Full paper review only, not abstract or extended abstract even.

  3. Project 2: Tencon Spring • Project description: Roll out Tencon 2013 Spring • First Call for Proposals have been made through the section chair. • The call is appended at the end of these slides.

  4. Project 3: Oversee Tencon 2012 • Project description: Oversee Tencon 2012. Activate Steering Committee. Institutionalise professional auditing. • Setting of an active Steering Committee, • Presently, IAC is largely symbolic. They do not play an active role in advising the conference. As a result the quality of Tencon is not assured which does not courage authors to submit their papers there, • Other suggestions; • to include strong and relevant chapters in Tenconorganisation to support the selected focus (thematic) areas, • Commit a list of good invited speakers to attract more participants. • Problem of no show not to include the papers in IEEExplore. The policy should be spelt out clearly in the website.

  5. Project 4: Support technical seminars in Colombo and Kolkatta, and DLP. • Project description: Technical Seminar and DLP • Status update: • 3 technical seminars have been held – Taipeh, Jogjakarta, Colombo, and 1 should have been completed in Kolkata by the time of the Assembly. • They are thematic – Green, Humanitarian Techs, etc. • They have been held in the venues of R10 Excom and AGM, • DLP shall be opened soon. • $500 per DLP; local OU to bear part of the costs. • Multiple OUs share is encouraged.

  6. POCO • POCO has been held annually at selected venues worldwide, • In order to encourage more R10 members to attend the meeting, it should be held closer to home. • R10 POCO?
