  3. 60 Points for Multiple Measures • Teacher submits evidence throughout the school year • Administrator collects evidence • At least three 5-15 minutes-long mini-observation for all teachers • Also one extended observation (including pre and post-conference) for probationary teachers

  4. 60 Points for Multiple Measures • In May, teachers should review OASYS to identify Standards & Elements that need more evidence • Teacher must submit all evidence by June 1 • At end of the year, collected evidence is compared to the NYSUT Professional Practice Rubric

  5. 60 Points for Multiple Measures • Levels on the rubric get converted to points: • Highly Effective = 4.0 pts • Effective = 3.3 pts • Developing = 2.8 pts • Ineffective = 0 pts

  6. 60 Points for Multiple Measures • Levels on the rubric get converted to points: • Highly Effective = 4.0 pts • Effective = 3.3 pts • Developing = 2.8 pts • Ineffective = 0 pts

  7. 60 Points for Multiple Measures • Levels on the rubric get converted to points: • Highly Effective = 4.0 pts • Effective = 3.3 pts • Developing = 2.8 pts • Ineffective = 0 pts • 4.0 pts • 3.3 pts • 4.0 pts • 2.8 pts

  8. 60 Points for Multiple Measures • Scores on indicators for each Indicator within a Teaching Standard get averaged into an overall score for each Teaching Standard • Scores for the 7 Teaching Standards get averaged for the overall rubric score • Overall rubric score gets translated to 60 points

  9. 20 Points for Student Growth • State provides these points for 4-8 ELA and math teachers • Everyone else must make a Student Learning Objective to figure these points out for ourselves

  10. 20 Points for Student Growth • Student Learning Objective is a process the state has prescribed • Set goals for the most important learning • Based on where your kids are starting the year • Common teachers collaborated on measures

  11. 20 Points for Local Achievement • A lot like the SLOs • Same basic process and format • Can’t be exactly the same as the SLO used for State Growth 20% • Like SLOs, committee structure will select assessments.

  12. Preparation for End of Year Meeting • Meeting will be scheduled between June 3-June 24 • Teachers must complete the End of Year Meeting form in OASYS at least 7 days before meeting. To do so, teacher will need to review summative assessment data (if available) • Administrator will have Summative Evaluation Report (Rubric) complete 3 days before meeting

  13. Preparation for End of Year Meeting • Teacher should review Summative Evaluation Report before meeting and identify areas he/she would like to discuss in meeting.

  14. What should I expect during the meeting? • End of Year Meeting Form will guide the conversation. • Be prepared to discuss your summative data and other sources of data to indicate how your students did this year. The SLOs and LATs will be discussed during this part of the meeting. • Be prepared to discuss the rubric. The administrator will share strengths and areas of growth based on evidence collected. You should identify areas of the rubric you would like to discuss.

  15. What should I expect during the meeting? • Discussion of progress on goals for your own learning for the year • Discussion of how you supported the goals of OCM BOCES this year • Review of Summative Score. If summative score is not complete because of waiting for state test results, the rest of the score will be provided to the teacher as soon as it is available.

  16. Annual Summative Evaluation • 20 + 20 + 60 = Annual Summative Score for each teacher • HEDI (91-100, 75-90, 65-74, 0-64) • Final score by the end of the year (unless waiting for state’s 20%) • Appeals process • If “developing” or  “ ineffective,” will have improvement plan for following year
