  2. First things first • Two documents must be filled out in order for you to attend: • Hold harmless agreement • Assumption of risk (student travel) • You will not be allowed in the van without having completed them • Fill them out tonight at the front of the room 

  3. Where are we going?

  4. Where are we staying? • Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ames 4 to a room, boys and girls separate

  5. When are we leaving? • Depart from Lynn Hall on Friday, March 21st • Early in the morning, @ 7 am • 7 hour drive in Purdue university passenger vans driven by yours truly, the officers (don’t worry we have been certified) • 27 people attending • Arrive in Ames between 2-4 pm for registration and dinner • Leave Iowa on Sunday, March 23rd • Sometime before 10 am depending on how much sleep the drivers need • Arrive back at Purdue in the evening

What are we doing? • Friday, March 21st  4:00 PM - 7:00 PM      Registration at hotel6:30 PM                        Banquet dinner at hotel~ 9:00 PM                     Pre-Vet OlympicsSaturday, March 22nd 5:30 AM                        Hotel breakfast open6:30 AM                        President's Meeting (ISU CVM)8:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Labs and Lectures at ISU CVM12:00 PM - 1:00 PM    Lunch 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM      Labs and Lectures at ISU CVM6:30 PM                        Banquet dinner ~ 9:00 PM                     Dance!

  7. What to bring? Please keep packing to a minimum so that everyone can have the most comfortable room for the ride there • Comfortable attire and shoes for the day including labs. Bring appropriate clothing for cold weather (close toed shoes) • Change of business/business casual clothes for the dinners in the evening (2 dinners) • Bathing suit if you want to use the hotel pool • Spending money for souvenirs and fast food on the way there/back (enough for 1-2 meals each way approximately) • They sell shirts, books, etc. • Personal toiletries, Identification, chargers, snacks for breakfast or the car

  8. Executive board opportunity • Be on the national board for planning symposium for one year • President, vice president, treasurer, secretary, webmaster • Attend President’s meeting on Saturday morning • Plan a small speech (1-3 minutes) about yourself and why you want the position to give at dinner • Voted in by all attending • Requirements: Meet at a minimum of four quarterly business meetings in addition to both Symposiums throughout term of office • For a complete description of positions: read the APVMA constitution at apvma.org or contact current officers from the website
