  2. Technical Prowess & Innovation Our historical success has been based on the design and manufacture of precision, multi-layered films consisting of high-performance, engineered materials with unique physical and chemical properties Small Particle Manufacturing

  3. Knowledge of all three factors is needed to design effective products Ag Antimicrobials Technology Effectiveness of any Ag AM will depend on three factors: 1. Ag form (solubility, chemistry, size, etc.) 2. Delivery vehicle (polymer permeability, Ag release rate, surface properties, etc.) 3. Microbial environment (water content, pH, ionic nature/strength, viscosity, flow, etc.)

  4. Gram Negative Bacteria Gram Positive Bacteria P O O L P TA P SH Ribosom Protein NH2 RNA DNA A Mycobacteria M Ag+/Cell Interaction TA Yeast PM O MP.G.C. P CM G • Most biocides only impact one cellular function • Silver can disrupt cell growth by multiple means

  10. Silpure Formulation • Active • Specially formulated silver chemistry for controlled ion release in microbial environment (textiles) • Manufactured to specific particle size, shape and morphology for optimal surface coverage and antimicrobial efficacy

  11. Silpure Formulation… • Binder System • Polymeric binder system to provide adhesion of silver to fabric materials • Co developed with silver technology to provide additional control of ion release for long lasting antimicrobial efficacy • Designed for optimal performance in padding processes • Compatible with a wide range of textile auxiliaries

  12. Untreated Fabric- A Closer Look

  13. Treated Fabric • Topically adhered • Uniform Coverage • Maximum Durability

  14. Product Information • Target application will be 1-3% (performance dependent) • Active (silver) concentration in blended product will be 0.24% • Final goods will therefore contain between 0.0024 and 0.0072% active (24-72 ppm)

  15. Silpure FBR-5 Performance Evaluation • Eliminates bacteria growth • Highly durable antimicrobial performance
