  2. LONG-TERM GOALS • To incorporate 21st century approaches to enhance and to inculcate thinking skills. • To excites the students curiosity about phenomena and events in the world around them.

  3. SHORT-TERM GOALS • Promote critical thinking. • Support interpersonal and collaborative skills. • Encourage use of different pool of resources. • Promote communication skills by effective oral, written and multimedia communications in a variety of forms and contents. • Develop creativity and intellectual curiosity.

  4. Instructional Strategies and tasks • Provide opportunities to promote higher order thinking. • Engage students in ALTs and ABL strategies. • Through group work open house discussion will be promoted.

  5. The BLOOM’S TAXONOMY There is more than one type of learning. A committee of colleges, led by Benjamin Bloom (1956), identified three domains of educational activities: Cognitive: mental skills (Knowledge) Affective: growth in feelings or emotional areas (Attitude) Psychomotor: manual or physical skills (Skills) Creating Evaluating Analyzing Applying Understanding Remembering

  9. CONCLUSION • Science is built of facts as a house is built of stones. • But is no more a collection of facts than a house is a pile of stones. • The bricks stick with the material called skills.
