This project investigates the feasibility of developing a low-power portable transmitter that operates within the UHF band, allowing consumers to wirelessly broadcast audio and video content from their digital devices to their TVs. By utilizing existing infrastructure and minimizing hardware costs, this solution aims to make home media streaming more accessible. The design supports commonly used digital media formats and prides itself on scalable, easy setup. The prototype utilizes advanced RF modulation and amplification techniques to ensure quality transmission.

Background • Vast majority of consumer media content is stored digitally on computers. • Consumers would like to see their media content on a TV.

RF Modulator • Input: NTSC video and BTSC audio. • Output: UHF modulated signal. • Freescale MC44BS373CA. • Capable of modulating on channels 14-69 (471.25 MHz – 801.25 MHz).
BTSC Stereo Encoder • Input: 2-channel analog audio. • Output: Stereo encoded audio. • Freescale MC44C402.
