  2. Pearl Harbor Attacked December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked the US fleet at Pearl Harbor

  3. U.S. Ships And People The largest part of the U.S. Pacific fleet was destroyed 3,400 military personnel were killed or wounded Four American battleships were destroyed and sunk The Japanese destroyed 188 U.S. planes

  4. The US Enters WW II After the attack, the U.S. entered World War 2 December 8 the U.S was joined by Great Britain in the war on Japan They became know as Allies

  5. 60 Years later the US was attacked again On September 11, 2001 Al Qaeda attacked New York’s World Trade Center

  6. Nineteen members of Al Qaeda hi jacked four planes Two planes were flown into the World Trade Center. One plane was flown into the Pentagon Fourth plane crashed before it could attack Washington D.C. More than 3,000 people died

  7. American officials had trouble identifying the terrorists The attack led to the worldwide “War on Terrorism” The World Trade Center complex also collapsed President Bush gave a order to go to war against Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda The United States sent troops to fight Al Qaeda in Afghanistan
