Computing and the Creative Arts Program This degree plan at Queens University is intended for students with interests and abilities in both Computing and at least one of the creative-arts disciplines at Queen's: Art, Drama, Film and Media, and Music Courses Within this program there are a large variety of course that you would have the ability to take. The core Computing subjects you'll study will include Data Structures (CISC-235), Algorithms (CISC-365), Human-Computer Interaction(CISC-325) and Artificial Intelligence (CSIC-352), and you’ll also study necessary mathematics which are Linear Algebra (MATH-111/6.0) or Calculus (MATH-126/6.0, Discrete Mathematics (CISC-203), and Mathematical Logic (CISC-204).

  3. Courses Continued Finally, you will complete the degree requirements with 30.0 elective units. These may be courses in other subjects that you have the prerequisites.   5. High School Courses Required: English 4U, Advanced Functions 4U, Calculus and Vectors 4U Basic Requirements: The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), and six 4U and M courses. Students in francophone schools may offer the equivalent of English 4U. Extra: Along with the basic requirements to be able to participate in this program Queens University also requires that you have over a 80% average in your Grade 12 courses

  6. Facilities Within Queens University there are a variety of labs available for undergraduate and graduate teaching. These labs include Jeffery Hall, Walter Light Hall, Walter Light Hall, Goodwin Hall, Goodwin Hall. All these labs run Windows XP and/or Unix (Sun Solaris and Ubuntu Linux).

  7. Student Testimonials Hung Tam It is a wonderful school. Great faculty and fantastic staff! It is like a family. Great research facilities! There are a lot of experts in different research areas. Great relationship with big companies, such as IBM and RIM. Great study environment. Great library and sport facilities. Big international student community. A lot of helpful support from the International Student Centre for international students. Queen's is located in downtown Kingston and by Lake Ontario. The scenery is beautiful, Shopping is convenient. People are friendly. Jung H. Oh I like Queen's university computing. I feel that I fit in the School of Computing, because we are a small group so we can be friends easily and enjoy our frosh week very well. For example, I can meet computing students in most of my classes and we usually sit together and help each other. On the other hand, I love the Queen's University help centre and tutor system; it helps me a lot to develop my study skills. For example, I usually get peer assistance in the writing centre. There are upper year students at the centre who help me improve my essays. They gave me some tips and fix my mistakes. Finally, I live in residence. I am a lucky girl as I live in Watt's Hall. I love my residence, because our floor don is a very good person whose name is James. He helps me a lot. He tries to help me to fit in with other people on our floor. Isabelle Harris My experience so far in the School of Computing has been wonderful. I enjoy being a part of such a close-knit community where there is always someone you can turn to for help, whether you are in need of advice or academic help. The professors are very helpful and encourage you to see them during office hours to ask as many questions as you want. They want their students to do well in their courses, and will always help you if you are struggling. I am so happy with my decision to join and stick with Computing mainly because I believe we are a family that helps one-another succeed.

  8. This degree plan at Brockeim University will prepare you for a career in Information Technology (IT), an industry that is transforming our world and workplaces. You’ll study data structures, operating systems, database systems, industry-standard programming languages, software engineering and user interfaces. You can take specialized courses in object-orientation, computer graphics, intelligent systems, computer networks, advanced Internet, expert systems, robotics, parallel computing, and compiler construction. Computer Science Requirements High School Requirements: The requirements you must have for entrance into this program are High school Courses of ENG4U, MHF4U or MCV4u while obtaining a minimum of a 70% grade point. As well a strongly recommend course to have is ICS4M. Basic Requirements: The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), and six 4U and M courses. Students in francophone schools may offer the equivalent of English 4U.
