  2. What is the Armada? • The Spanish Armada was a Spanish navy fleet most famous for being used by Spain's King Phillip 2 to attack Britain in 1588. It was defeated by the Royal Navy of England under command of Sir Francis Drake during queen Elizabeth I's realm.

  3. WHEN IT STARTED • It started because of the English religion. It started in July 1588.

  4. What were the ships like • The Spanish Armada brought with it 22 galleons and 108 armed merchant vessels.They fought an English force of 34 warships and 163 armed merchant vessels . There were about 130 ships, of which only 67 returned home !!That is more than half did not return!!

  5. The blessing of the Armada's banner on 25 April 1588 was similar to the ceremony used prior to the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. On 28 May 1588, the Armada set sail from Lisbon (occupied Portugal ), headed for the English Channel. The map!!!!!!!!!!! The plan
