Gender in Value Chain coaching • Agri-Hub started a coaching track in the second half of 2012, with the objective to provide practical on-the-job help to organisations working on value chain. • While evaluating the 2012 coaching track with a number of Agri-Hub members and gender experts, the Agri-Hub also discussed the interest of a new, differently designed support track. • The final problem mentioned for some organisations was the new 30-70 rule for NGO’s, which states that only 30% of the money can be spent on admin. • Based on the lesson learnt during the first support track, the second coaching track was designed and being implemented

  7. 2nd Gender in VC Coaching • Launched in August 2013 • Objective: • To enable development practitioners to facilitate gender responsive value chain development. • As a result of this, it is to ensure that both male and female entrepreneurs benefit equally from better functioning of agricultural value chains. • The expected results of the support track include; • Increased understanding about gender in agricultural value chains • Better understanding and application of existing tools and methodologies on gender and value chains • Documenting best practices in addressing gender equity in value chain development facilitation
