What is NewIDES • NewIDES is a software package which allows the treatment of data files that are sent by the Member States Administrations to the various services of the DG Agriculture of the European Commission. • The Web Upload Secure Interface (WUSI), is an Internet application which allows the easy and safe transfer of these data files from the Member States Administrations to NewIDES.

  4. NewIDES Principles • Member State Correspondent prepares a text file, using a predefined template; • Member State Correspondent sends this file to DG Agriculture using the WUSI web application; • WUSI sends back a delivery report; • NewIDES treats the data and sends back an acknowledgement.

  5. NewIDES Treats the message(s). Sends data to DG Agri applications. Sends acknowledgements to message originators. Message via email DG AGRI Applications (AMIS, AGREX etc) Email transmission (only for TEST) Message in a file SSL (Secure channel)via Internet or TESTA Upload report Notifi-cation Acknowledgement INTERNET OR TESTA(*) MS DG AGRICULTURE WUSI NewIDES schematic diagram (*) Standing for “Trans-European Services for Telematics between Administrations”; TESTA is a private network that provides a telecommunications infrastructure for public European administrations.

What to do next • Member State Administrations fulfil and send the distributed forms to the DG Agriculture (IT Unit); • DG Agriculture (IT Unit) distributes usernames and passwords to the correspondents; • DG Agriculture (IT Unit) sends templates and other information to correspondents; • Correspondents start testing the system.
