  2. 13D. PostprocessingResults Viewer Description • Use the “Results Viewer” to postprocess the model solved in Workshop 13C. November 1, 2002 Inventory #001756 W13-2

  3. 13D. PostprocessingResults Viewer 1. Enter ANSYS in the working directory specified by your instructor using “multi-ls” as the jobname. 2. Resume the “multi-ls.db” database file from workshop 13C: • Utility Menu > File > Resume from … • Select the “multi-ls.db” database file, then [OK] • Or issue: RESUME,multi-ls,db 3. Enter the General Postprocessor and read in a set of results: • Main Menu > General Postproc > Read Results > First Set • Or issue: /POST1 SET,1 4. Write out a PGR file including all three load steps: • Main Menu > General Postproc > Write PGR File • Write data for all sets • Select “Stress” [OK] • Or issue: POUTRES,S SET, , , , , , ,1 PGSAVE,'multi-ls','pgr','.',0, 0,0 SET, , , , , , ,2 PGSAVE,'multi-ls','pgr','.',0, 0,0 SET, , , , , , ,3 PGSAVE,'multi-ls','pgr','.',0, 0,0 November 1, 2002 Inventory #001756 W13-3

Use the viewer to plot the Equivalent Stress for Load Step 2: • Move the scroll bar to “Load Step 2”. • Use the pulldown list to select “von Mises Stress”. • Use the contour plot button to display nodal results. 1 3 2 November 1, 2002 Inventory #001756 W13-5

Read input from the “plate-13e.inp” file: • Utility Menu > File > Read Input from … • Select the “plate-13e.inp” file, then [OK] • Or issue: /INPUT,plate-13e,inp 3. Open the Report Generator: • Utility Menu > File > Report Generator • Select “Overwrite”, then [OK] • Select “Yes” to create a new directory November 1, 2002 Inventory #001756 W13-11
