  2. AVIA Aviation History • AVIA works managed by Germans during war produced aircraft engines • Production of civilian aircraft continued after war until 1961 when phased-out AVIA 14-32, the largest plane produced in Czech Republic

  3. AVIA Truck History • Post-war, AVIA became involved in truck business – in 1946 producing 706R model • AVIA produced the famous V3S which remained in production from the 1960’s until 1988. Many are still in operation. V3S (until 1988) 706 (from 1946)

  4. AVIA – Truck history - Renault licence • 1967 AVIA signed a licence agreement with Saviem (Renault) to produce the SG2 / SG3 models, known as the AVIA A15 / A20 / A30. This became the standard medium truck in the Comecon countries. • Production reached 19.000 in 1983

  5. AVIA –”Daewoo AVIA” era • As part of their worldwide investment plan, 50,2% of AVIA shares were bought by Daewoo in 1995. Major investment included upgrading A range to create A60 / A75 / A80 range. • Launch of D-Line in 2000 A75 D75

  6. AVIA –”Odien” era • Take-over and recapitalisation by Odien in 2005 • Re-launch of AVIA brand • Financial and physical restructuring • Continued product development D120, EURO 4

AVIA – Current status • Wholly owned subsidiary of Ashok Leyland Ltd, INDIA • Incorporated in the Czech Republic • Formed from Truck Business Unit assets taken over from AVIA a.s. • Take-over effective 6th October 2006 • Responsible for development – manufacturing and assembly plus marketing, sales and after-sales of medium weight trucks
