  2. There are many ways to view our world • Secularist Worldview (postmodern view) • Religious Worldview • Political Worldview • Atheistic Worldview • Biblical Worldview

  3. The Secular Worldview (postmodernism) A secular world view is a view of the world that is void of any spiritual factors and relies solely on human rationale.

  4. A Religious Worldview There are varying religions in the world which proscribe Deist ideals based upon human theological theories.

  5. The Political Worldview A political worldview evolves around the ever-changing superstructure of human civil government, and moral relativism.

  6. The Atheistic Worldview The worldview of Atheism maintains that there is simply no supernatural entity and thus no Creator-overseer in the affairs of the world.

  7. The Biblical Worldview The Biblical worldview maintains that there is an overseeing Creator tending to the course of human civilization and history.

Some Basic Components of the Biblical Worldview • The Biblical worldview is based upon the precept of the existence of absolute truth. • A Biblical worldview uses the Bible to form ideals of moral and ethical behavior. • A Biblical worldview also mandates that the Bible is relevant to the history of the Middle East, and indeed the whole world.

The Abrahamic Covenant • Genesis 15:18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: • Genesis 12:1-3Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Replacement Theology • Replacement theology is a theological review which maintains that the Church has “replaced” the nation of Israel (Jews) in the Abrahamic Covenant. • Replacement theology also maintains that the Kingdom promised unto Israel has been replaced by the “spiritual” kingdom being built by the Church.

  17. The 1st Commonwealth of Israel • From Joshua to Saul, to David, to Solomon and on down to Zedekiah • The State of Israel came into being from 1097BC and lasted down to 606BC….(490 years) • This period of sojourn marked the 1st possession of the Promised Land

Israel and Jerusalem Destroyed by Babylon • Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon conquers Israel in 606BC and destroys Jerusalem 19 years later in 587BC • This era of captivity would last for 70 years (605-535) and marked the first uprooting, or scattering of Israel. • The 1st scattering of Israel was not worldwide, but rather localized (Babylon)

Persian King Darius Decrees Jews return to Jerusalem • Ezra 7 and Nehemiah 2 record the decree of Artaxerxes referred to in Daniel 9:25 that established the timeline for the first coming of the Messiah. (445BC) • The decree also enabled a remnant of Israel to be reconstituted back in the Promised Land, marking the 2nd possession of the land.

The United Nations “Partitions” the Promised Land • Joel 3:1-2 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. • Amos 9:15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

  23. The West Bank and the so-called “Occupied Territories are not the problem The Arabs reject the idea of Israel’s existence altogether. Five Arab nations tried to exterminate Israel when the West Bank was held by the Arabs. Psalms 83:3-5They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

  25. Jerusalem Rebuilt in Troublous Times Jesus appears for his presentation while Israel is under Roman occupation. (Daniel 9:25) Jesus is cut-off. (crucified) Jerusalem is destroyed as the Jews are scattered world-wide. The great Diaspora or the 2nd scattering begins in 70AD

And he shall set up an ensign(banner-flag) for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

  30. The UN stipulated in its Resolution 181 and 191 to partition God’s land and to preserve Jerusalem as a Global Holy city. Rome, the UN, the Vatican, and the EU, and the entire Arab world are burdened by the existence of Israel.

  37. The War on Terror is a war about Israel and America’s support for Israel,….. (and God is watching.)

  38. Osama bin Laden: “there will be no peace for America until there is peace in Palestine! Palestinians in West Bank Celebrate attack on America Sept 11…. Muslims and Palestinians paraded in the streets throughout the West Bank and the Arab world, celebrating the attack on America! The terror attacks were because of US foreign policy in the Middle East...and US support of Israel!

Zechariah 12:2-3 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Peace and Security Luke 21:25-26 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; (aporia) the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Aporia = means international anxiety caused by quandry over security) Weapons of Mass Destruction…Atomic Bombs….Terrorism

The Day of the Lord Draweth Near • Daniel 8:25 And through his policy (peace processes) also he (Antichrist) shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. • 1Thes 5:2-4 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

  42. Antichrist orPrince of Peace? Matthew 24:29-30 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
