  2. The pie chart shows the most popular types of computers, which were Sony, Toshiba, Apple, Samsung and Acer, in the world in 2005 in percentages, whereas the bar graph shows the popularity of the same kinds of computers in Japan and France in the same year. Overall, around the world and in France the most popular computer was Apple, while in Japan it was Sony.

  3. Looking at the pie chart, we can see that 1) the most common computer in the world was Apple, at 40%. The 2) second most popular computer was Samsung, at just under a third. Together, Toshiba and Sony made up a quarter, at 15% and 10% respectively. 3) This was higher than the popularity of Acer, 4) which was the lowest at 5%. 5) Similar to the world, in France the most popular computer was Apple, at just over a quarter. On the other hand, 6) the least popular computer was Sony at 9%, 7) which was slightly lower than in the world. 8) Unlike in the world and in France, in Japan the most common computer was Sony, 9) which was much more popular than in the world at 29%. In contrast, the least popular computer in Japan was Acer, at just over a tenth, 10) which was higher than in the world.

  4. Task Two All over the world, many people smoke and this is causing huge health related problems. What are some solutions to this problem?

  5. Smoking cigarettes is a common activity in every country of the world. This is a problem because it causes many serious illnesses, such as cancer, heart disease and poor eyesight. However, there are several solutions for this problem. The first solution is that the government should educate people about the dangers of smoking. For instance, it should put advertising on television and the internet that explains how smoking damages people’s health. If people knew exactly how dangerous smoking is, then maybe they would stop smoking or not even start.

  6. A second possible solution to the problem of smoking is that the government should make cigarettes more expensive with a special tax. For example, in many countries, governments put a tax of 40 or 50 percent on cigarettes. As a result, smoking is very expensive, so many people do not smoke because they do not have enough money. Finally, the government should support smokers who want to quit. This is because smokers often need help to stop smoking. For instance, the government could provide smokers with free advice and special medication. Another example is that the government could pay ex-smokers to visit people who are trying to give up smoking so that they could give them extra encouragement. Because of this, more people would find it easier to quit smoking.

  7. In conclusion, although the problem of smoking affects people in many countries, there are solutions to this problem. The government should educate people about the health risks of smoking, increase the price of cigarettes, and help smokers who want to quit. I believe that all people should not smoke. e – d – c – a – b
