  2. Chapter 16 Summary • They were traveling from Calcutta to Hong Kong to drop off Aouda with her relatives. Fix was Wondering if he should tell Passepartout about Mr.Fogg being the robber. Fix rushed up to Passepartout and acted surprised to see him. Fix is starting to become friends with Passepartout. They start talking and go have a drink.

  3. Chapter 17 Summary • While on the Rangoon heading from Singapore to Hong Kong, passepartout thinks he has figured out who fix truly is, a member from the reform club who has been following Mr. Fogg around the world to make sure he didn’t cheat or flee. But, fix thinks passepartout knows who he really is, a detective.

Important Instances in the Plot • When, at he end of chapter 17, Passepartout realizes that the boat is slowing down because the valves aren't charged right. • When Fix thinks that Passepartout has discovered who he truly is, while Passepartout thinks he is from the club to make sure Fogg goes around the world.
